About Me
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington state and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) in the USA. I received my Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling, Specialization in School Counseling, through CACREP-accredited Adams State University. I received my Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, I am a Texas Education Agency (TEA) licensed educator in EC-6 General Education and EC-12 Special Education.
I firmly believe that mental health must be nurtured – it is a journey rather than a destination! Therefore, I have developed, implemented, and evaluated wellness programs that utilize a multi-tiered system of support to meet the social-emotional needs of all the clients and students I have served. I am a child advocate. My heart belongs in helping others and being a positive role model. I am a believer in the greater good and have dedicated my life to human services. I have been known to “spread infectious enthusiasm” and positively influence those around me because I truly care about improving our world. Children are our future, and I whole-heartedly believe that encouraging compassion and empathy is key.
I'm a wife, and I'm a mother. I am a certified yoga instructor and avid yogi. Mindful movement and breathing has served as one of my main coping strategies throughout the years. Whether on or off the mat, I utilize my mindfulness practice to help me build concentration, empathy, and grit. I hope to prepare my clients for greatness and become empowered to find creative solutions to the problems of today in order to make the world a better place tomorrow.
